I’m new to the arts. Which course should I take?
If you have no prior experience in artmaking, we recommend starting with our prerecorded Tie-Dye course. This beginner-friendly option gives you one month of online access, allowing you to learn at your own pace and convenience. You may also choose to join our interactive Tie-Dye session, which provides live instruction and real-time support. Both options are excellent starting points for beginners looking to explore textile art.
Can I register for both Tie-Dye and Batik?
Yes, you can! However, we recommend starting with Tie-Dye first. It’s a great introduction to fabric art and will help you get comfortable with the basics. Once you’re satisfied with the quality of the teaching and feel ready to explore more, you can then sign up for the Batik course. Take your time—pace yourself and enjoy the process.
I’m interested in Stitch and Dye and Cassava Starch Resist. Where should I begin?
Those are wonderful techniques! To get the most out of your learning experience, we recommend following this sequence:
- Tie-Dye – A perfect introduction to fabric art.
- Batik – Builds on your dyeing skills with wax resist methods.
- Starch and Dye – Introduces more intricate resist techniques.
- Adire Eleko (Cassava Starch Resist) – A detailed and expressive method best learned after the basics.
Following this progression ensures a strong foundation and steady growth in your creative journey.
What does the Full Practical In-Person Course entail?
This course is ideal for those seeking a fully hands-on experience. You’ll have access to a well-equipped workshop where you can learn, experiment, and create under expert guidance. It’s a practical, immersive approach designed to help you build confidence and master each technique.
